New Album Due For Release This Fall

If you happened to have been at Cog County Faire on Saturday this year, you may have heard me mention in passing that many of the songs I would be playing that day were taken from a new album, entitled “A Distance From Home.” This album has been in the works for quite some time – I believe the majority of songs were chosen well before the recording of “Anything For A Quiet Life,” but we decided to hold off doing another fully arranged vocal album for a number of reasons. A few of the songs made appearances during the two First Night Canfield concerts I did in 2012 and 2013, but they were simply introduced as new songs, since I had no plans at that time for actually recording them in a formal way.
I’m happy to say that all that has changed. Most of the vocal tracks have already been recorded and we’re now laying down the instruments for what will be Parlormuse’s fourth release (second full-length album), due out sometime before Thanksgiving. More details will follow, and I’ll be posting some of the completed tracks in advance of the album’s release, so please keep an eye out either here or on our social media pages for news and announcements. “A Distance From Home” will mark a return to form, and will incorporate the type of full band arrangements that were featured on “It’s Not The Coat Makes The Gentleman.”
Thanks for reading!
